Saw my first blue-gray gnatcatcher yesterday evening. This tiny bird has been eluding me for years - and there he was, right in my backyard catching gnats. It was the flashes of white from his tail feathers that gave him away. He flitted around in a most peculiar fashion.

My daughter spied a fox in our suburban back yard this morning. Apparently it ambled across the yard and around the house. It’s sad that wild animals need to move into residential areas - their habitat is being taken over by humans. What do foxes eat anyway?

Female Rose-breasted Grosbeak So yesterday around noon (about the same time I saw the male) I saw a female rose-breasted grosbeak at the feeder. I took a picture this time, will post later.

A rose-breasted grosbeak was at my feeder this morning. I’ve only seen one other - at my feeder too, a few years ago.
